Since last year, mercury-containing light sources have been banned in the EU, leading to a transition towards more efficient and energy-saving alternatives across the country. As part of this transition, we have initiated a charity project in collaboration with Ågrenska, a national competence center for individuals with special health conditions and disabilities. The project aims to support Ågrenska in replacing or renewing nearly 1,000 fixtures with more sustainable alternatives.

Located south of Gothenburg, Ågrenska plays a crucial role in enhancing the well-being and quality of life for children, youth, and adults with rare health conditions and disabilities. As a non-profit organization, they complement municipal and regional support efforts significantly. Through our partnership, we are enabling a necessary and resource-intensive effort for Ågrenska.
"Ågrenska conducts a fantastic operation, and we are thrilled to contribute in this way. There is great dedication among all employees, and the joy of working together is palpable. We will produce new fixtures but also refurbish existing lamps by updating them with new control systems and LED technology. This way, Ågrenska saves significant costs and can instead focus resources on its vital daily core activities. Activities that make a huge difference in many people's lives," says Peter Tafazoli, CEO of Belid Lighting Group.
The work has now commenced, with new fixtures being produced in the factory, while selected fixtures are being updated with new LED technology. The initiative is estimated to be worth between 2-3 million SEK, funds that Ågrenska can now invest in its core operations.
"The commitment from Belid Lighting Group and all its employees has given us the opportunity to focus on the children who come to us - without worrying about the cost of replacing fixtures, which is a significant expense for us. Additionally, we will have more efficient and energy-saving light sources that will provide future savings and a better climate footprint. We at Ågrenska are incredibly grateful and moved by this commitment and generous support," says Pernilla Medegård, Operations Manager at Ågrenska.
