Since last year, mercury-containing light sources have been banned in the EU, leading to a transition towards more efficient and energy-saving alternatives across the country. As part of this transition, we have initiated a charity project in collaboration with Ågrenska, a national competence center for individuals with special health conditions and disabilities. The project aims to support Ågrenska in replacing or renewing nearly 1,000 fixtures with more sustainable alternatives.

Together with researchers, technical consultants, and the Danish design company Lyhne Design, we have developed solutions with biological lighting that will compensate for the lack of daylight exposure among elderly individuals. During the project, the lighting solutions have been further developed with adaptations for schools, offices, and other public environments. The lighting consists of full-spectrum LED lamps, which means that individuals who, for various reasons, do not have the opportunity to receive sufficient natural daylight can benefit from all the positive effects that daylight brings.
"We are incredibly happy and proud of this project, which is not only our largest framework agreement ever but also a project that will make a significant difference in people's everyday lives. We have tremendous strength in our product development and factory in Varberg, which has enabled great flexibility in developing, designing, testing, and improving new products and versions. This is a strategically important deal for us as it lays a solid foundation for continued growth in this area. We are now entering the first phase and look forward to delivering both lamps and brighter days to Denmark's municipalities," says Peter Tafazoli, CEO of Belid Lighting Group.
Two collections, SolMate and RoomMate, have been developed in two different designs. The products are now being put into production, and we are truly excited to deliver both lamps and brighter days to Denmark's municipalities and beyond. A big thank you to all the parties involved who have been part of this significant project. The end result is that this collaboration will make a big difference in people's everyday lives.
"The impact of light on our well-being is widely recognized today. The right type of light at the right time of day has a positive influence on both sleep and overall health. This is of particular importance among the elderly and others who, for various reasons, do not have access to sufficient natural daylight. Lighting solutions with biological light truly have enormous potential." says Anders Lundin, Project and Sales Manager at Belid Lighting Group.
